Thanks for checking out our images. Â We are JonJohn & Lovina Arcara a husband & wife in love with each other, our daughters, & photography.
We like to portray a playful and contemporary style through our photojournalistic images. Our sexy, spontaneous photographs are featured in various magazines including The Knot, Modern Bride, Conde Naste Brides, & NJ Bride. We are a second generation photography studio located in beautiful downtown Red Bank, NJ.  27 years ago My dad told me that if I can ask for money to go to the movies, I can carry a camera to earn it.  Shooting wedding & portraits professionally since the age of 13, I have never had a job that hasn’t pertained to photography.  Attending International Center of Photography, in NYC I studied Fashion Photography & Photojournalism.  I figured, I already spent years training for & shooting weddings, & I wanted to go to school for something that would make it really exciting & different.  After schooling I took a position assisting some of the worlds most famous fashion photographers.  Working for Patrick Demarchalier taught me about creating a beautiful story using photography instead of words. Being in a punk band and singing on stage also gave me the edge both in a radical vision of imaging and a mega-watt energetic personality!  A wedding to me is like a fashion show.  You have a couple of models, a runway & of course an after party at THE most exclusive venue in town!  We love to shoot more in an editorial or cinema-graphic feel, it just lends itself perfectly to a luxurious wedding day & the Couture style “Fine Art Book†that we design.
Lovina is also a photographer, as well as the studio manager & full time Mom!  She holds the reigns at John Arcara Photography.  She went to school at The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC studying marketing & advertising with spawned a love of asthetic images.  Before we were even married Lovina had picked up camera & started shooting weddings, portraits & fashion images with me, around Red Bank, Asbury Park, & NYC.  After working with advertising agencies in NYC, & Norma Kamali a fashion designer in NYC, Lovina decided that she was too in love with freedom & creativity to be committed to the corporate world.  She created a new brand for us as John Arcara Photography & never looked back.  Lovina is both the brains & the brawn of this studio & just adores the rush of creating a fantastic image. “I love to capture the day & show our awesome brides how beautiful they really are.†When not shooting we are usually found playing with our beautiful daughters, Molly & Lilly…

I was on Neil van Niekirk’s site and will be attending an upcoming photo seminar of his.
I am looking to broaden my photo skills and shot weddings some years ago, but only on film. It’s not something I want to pursue as a full-time career as my lifestyle doesn’t permit it, but I truly love your styling and presentation and wondering if you could use a 2nd/3rd assistant/photographer?
I currently shoot with a 5D MkII, 7D, 50mm f/1.2, 85mm f/1.2, 17-55mm f/2.8, 10-22mm f/3.5 & 70-200mm IS f/2.8 w/ 580EX Speedlite II.
The other reason I am being bold in writing to ask you this is upon looking through your gallery, I noticed that you shot Tom and Diana Wiezczak’s (sp?) wedding and I love it!
